To All Who Love to Write Poems

When a poem comes to you in the middle of the night, don’t wait for tomorrow. Grab a pen and start writing those lovely lines. You can always go back to sleep, but these elusive visitors may not come back again for a long time, and you would have missed a moment of wonder and joy! Let the words just glide onto paper, like guests all dressed up for the party where you are the honored guest. And when you are done, put down your pen, go back to sleep and perhaps you will see them again in your dreams.

Welcome!

Hello! My name is Carla. I was born and raised in Iloilo City, Philippines. Ever since I could remember, JOY, was a huge part of my life. My mother’s name is Ligaya, which means “Joy” in English. Even though our family was not wealthy and had our fair share of troubles and tragedies, I have learned that joy is possible even in the midst of adversity. This joy came from many sources and in varying degrees. The deepest joy I’ve experienced was to meet Jesus in a very personal way when I was ten years old. I started this blog to share poems, prayers and prose that I hope will inspire joy in you. I am a beginner in this adventure called blogging. Or should I say a latecomer. I accidentally pressed the “launch site” button before I was done editing my site, so HERE I AM! Welcome!

Resolve

A new year will soon be dawning
I have but one resolve:
to walk slowly,
though my mind wants to rush through the day;
to be still in my heart,
even when my hands are eager to fix broken things;
to wait before I speak, and listen
to the still, small voice within.
